The Anmeldung (address registration) is mandatory within 14 days of moving into a new residence in Germany.

Passport or ID Card
Valid identification document
Rental Contract
Your signed housing agreement
Landlord Confirmation (Wohnungsgeberbestätigung)
Confirmation from your landlord that you've moved in
Visa/Residence Permit (if applicable)
For non-EU citizens
Marriage Certificate (if applicable)
If registering with a spouse
Birth Certificates (if applicable)
If registering with children
